Released September 4, 2026.
TabBud 2.2 is a usability release. It doesn’t add a headline feature. Instead, it puts the things you already use where you’d expect to find them. Much of it came straight from user feedback.
New Space, now easier to find
New Space has moved to the top of the sidebar. Creating a Space is one of the most important actions in TabBud, and it now has a place to match.
To create a Space:
- Open a new tab to bring up TabBud.
- Click New Space at the top of the left sidebar.
- Name it, for example “Client: Acme” or “Thesis research”.
Profile and Settings, top right
Profile and Settings used to sit behind the avatar thumbnail, and some people couldn’t find them. They now live in the top-right section of the page, where they’re visible straight away.
From there you can reach your settings, help, your current version and sync.
Settings, reimagined
Settings now open as a drawer instead of a modal:
- More room to lay out and explain each setting
- Clearer separation between sections
- A more natural way to browse and change your preferences
Appearance options live here: Light, Dark or Auto theme; Grid, List, Grid List or Narrow grid layout; and Compact Mode.
Stay updated with Notifications
A new Notifications section keeps you up to date on important TabBud changes, improvements and announcements, without getting in your way.
Clearer page layout and buttons
- Important actions and navigation sit where they’re easier to discover
- Spacing and visual hierarchy are improved, for better readability
- Buttons are more consistent in placement, size and spacing, with a clearer difference between primary and secondary actions
