TabBud 2.3: Import From Any Tab Manager, Export Anywhere

TabBud 2.3: Import and Export

Released October 10, 2026.

Switching tab managers used to mean starting over. Years of saved links stayed behind in the old tool, or turned into an export file nobody opened again.

TabBud 2.3 is about moving in and moving out freely. Bring your tabs in from just about anywhere, and take everything out, anytime, in a format other tools can read. Import and export are included on every plan.

Import from just about anywhere

TabBud reads:

  • Bookmark files from Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc, and any other browser that exports one
  • Tab managers, with purpose-built support for OneTab, Toby, Session Buddy, Workona and Tab Manager Plus
  • Bookmark managers: Raindrop.io and Pocket exports
  • Plain files: CSV and Markdown
  • A pasted list of links from a note, a doc or an email

Using something TabBud doesn’t recognize? It still reads the file and pulls out every link, so you never lose a link to an unfamiliar format.

Import straight from your browser

You don’t need an export file at all. Pull in the bookmarks from the browser you’re already using, folders included. Nested folders become clearly named Collections, so Work / Design / Refs stays separate from Personal / Refs.

See what will happen before anything is saved

A preview screen shows:

  • How many links and Collections are about to be created
  • Which Space they’ll land in
  • How much room your plan has, and exactly what will fit

Nothing is written until you press the button, so you never end up with a half-finished import.

Duplicate detection is on by default and checks against everything already in TabBud. It recognizes the same page even when the link looks different: tracking tags, www., a trailing slash, or query parameters in another order. It also catches duplicates inside the file itself, so a bookmark filed in two folders is saved once.

Changed your mind? Undo it

Undo this import removes exactly what that import created. Everything else in the Space stays where it was.

Export everything, anytime

Export everything, a single Space or a single Collection as:

FormatBest for
Bookmarks file (.html)Every browser, Raindrop, Pocket and most bookmark tools
TabBud backup (.json)A lossless backup: re-import it and get your Spaces, Collections and colors back
Spreadsheet (.csv)Google Sheets, Excel and Notion
Markdown (.md)Obsidian and other notes apps, grouped by heading

Exports are generated instantly on your own device: no waiting, no upload.

Built for big libraries

  • Large imports are saved in batches, with a live progress bar
  • Close the tab mid-import and whatever was already saved stays saved
  • Thousands of bookmarks import without freezing

Where to find it

Import and Export are in the account menu, in Settings, and in the empty Bookmarks view.
